COVID update March 26th. NO practice schedule out until #safeathome is lifted

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to navigate the current health crisis being caused by Covid-19. At this time we have decided to take the following actions:

  1. Continue to update with ANY cancellations the minute we are made aware.  (as of now the Just-A-Game events are cancelled until April 25th)  We are in constant contact waiting to understand cancellations or reschedule options.
  2. ONLINE TRAINING is out there!  Get your player moving with the videos Harry uploaded.

With the health and safety of our players, families and communities we serve at the forefront of every decision, we will continue to monitor this situation closely and communicate as soon as we have pertinent information.

We will continue to follow the CDC's and government official's protocol and guidance. We would like to play in every event this summer but as of right now we will need more time to see what is feasible. Of note: PrepHoops and other organizers are working around the clock identifying numerous back up plans to try and preserve as much of the season as possible.  And although we have witnessed some tournaments already cancel their events, the response of the NCAA and USJN leave the possibility open for events to occur in April as scheduled. So, we will work with our contacts to stay informed. We will provide updates as we get them (apologies in advance for the number of emails)

We will get through this period of uncertainty together. If you have any questions, please reach out to Program Director - Harry Boyce, or email us generalgrassroots@team1848.com

Sincerely,
Team 1848 Leadership and Coaching Staff.

Please see the following statements below from JUST A GAME in WI DELLS:

COVID-19 STATEMENT FOR JUST A GAME
To All,

Justagame is closed with all events and tournaments postponed until April 25. The next events that will be hosted will be the April 25 and 26 tournaments. Please check our homepage for updates to this statement.

We will reschedule skill sessions and JAG Select Try-outs when mandates are lifted.

*For teams looking to register for events this spring/summer: Please register, but do not pay at this time. Select Mail-In payment at checkout. That way if events continue to be postponed we can avoid processing refunds.

Many of you have already removed your team from April tournaments and requested a refund. As a small, family run business we would like to instead ask that all teams accept a credit for a future event.

Teams that take the credit for March/April events instead of asking for a refund will also be given a second entry for free. If you must receive a refund, we understand. Please send us email and let us know either way. The free tournament offer does not extend to May events.

Stay home, stay safe, and let’s get this thing under control so we can get back to having fun and enjoying a game that we love.

Thanks for your support,

The Royston Family

BILL HENSLEY "Run-n-Slam" tourney:  Fort Wayne, IN for 14-17u boys

As of today (March 26th) this is still planning to be played.  This is entirely dependent on having the 32 venues available (all area high schools).  They are under the same restrictions as we are locally.  If that is lifted, they will proceed (and I'll upload Hotel info at that point).  If not, they will cancel and are looking at alternative options later in Summer.

#WORKSOMEMORE TRAINING

It is the philosophy of WSM that athletes who love the game of basketball should have detailed and disciplined instruction of the skills needed to improve as an individual player and as a team player. Players must have a foundation of how to execute skills, when to use their skills in game play, and have an understanding of WHY their skills and game time decisions make them the most effective basketball players. And above all else, it’s imperative that players learn that to succeed in anything, they must continue to Work Some More.
